HUGO
Hugo is a wood and stainless steel credenza built around wooden chevron-shaped legs. It gives the piece a unique lightness and plays with gravity, making it seemingly stand solely due to friction. The construction sparks curiosity and adds a dimension of wonder.
Process:
Designing around gravity, I explored the interaction between the ground and the credenza. The design revolved around making this relationship both captivating and innovative through iteration, discussion, and exploration.
Learning Outcomes:
Hugo allowed for deeper research into mechanisms and construction, combining wood and metal. It led to interesting discussions about metal bending and CNC fabrication as well.
