American Masters: Richard Avedon

For Richard Avedon's episode of American Masters, the task was to create assets to accompany and support the documentary. A wordmark was created to give Richard Avedon's name a memorable form while also embodying his work and process. A book was made to accompany the content in the documentary in print. In addition, a triptych of posters was made to promote the material out in the real world.
Learning Outcomes:
With this project I learned about the importance of iteration and visual research. To develop the wordmark, I iterated over multiple rounds that were informed by research to develop the best possible iteration. I also learned about how one piece of material such as a documentary needs/can have supplemental content around it that must be cohesive and live in the same universe.
