Verdant

Step into a space where art, material, and landscape meet. "Verdant" is a publication that gathers six artists: Maya Lin, Agnes Denes, Andy Goldsworthy, Robert Smithson, Nancy Holt, and Richard Long. Each works with materials that range from industrial to natural, responding to climate, land, and the shifting relationships between humans and the environment. The book brings these practices into conversation by looking closely at how forms, textures, and gestures emerge from the places they inhabit and the materials they choose.

The layout design highlights the connection between each artwork through an unseen line that moves quietly across the book. This line guides both the horizontal and vertical flow of each spread, creating a sense of continuity from one artist to the next. Symmetrical layouts, intentional image placement, and a carefully paced sequence bring this idea to life, allowing the book to feel both structured and open as the reader moves through it.

An installation translates the publication into a spatial experience, using digital documentation and natural objects to shape how viewers move through the work. The audience can interact with the piece by placing and replacing natural materials on the digital projections, allowing them to see how each object shifts the forms on screen and reveals new relationships between material, shape, and environment.
