Backdraft

This project takes the agreement between myself and my friends affected by the 2020 Australian wildfires as an opportunity, so I want to use a project to express and explore the "fire" that is common and important in our daily lives.
Learning Outcomes:
Using traditional paper media as a carrier, some visual expression techniques are used to present this. Including the study of fire, basic information from the physical and chemical properties. And the impact of wildfires in Australia on the earth's environment and the production and life of animals and humans. Finally, summarize and reflect on the problems caused by this wild fire.

The Australian wildfire started in September 2019 and has been burning for more than 4 months. The front of this manual uses a planar approach to show the distribution of some cities in Australia where wildfires are more serious; the back includes the Australian fire data from NASA satellite instruments MODIS C6 and VIIRS 375m through this data set provided by Carlos Paradis. And perform a simple data analysis on this.

I tried to burn on the cloth, trying to restore the feeling that the forest fire had engulfed the forest, so I left many burn marks on the cloth. Then, using the traces obtained from the combustion, 26 English letters were spliced as the experimental output. And use the computer to carry out the creative design process again, and get the letters in the form of flames.

This book mainly uses illustrations and infographics to describe the biological groups affected by the Australian wildfires, including animals (divided into mammals, amphibians, birds, and frogs) and specifically mentions the degree of casualties The most serious koala; plants (including the habitats of destroyed animals, the area of Australia's forest fires, etc.) and humans (including data on injuries and deaths of firefighters involved in firefighting, and statistics on injuries of people around mountain fires).

In the first book, I mainly tell some basic information about fire. For example, firstly, in terms of physics, it explained why the flame can be seen, what shape the flame will be under the influence of different gravity, and the four major aspects of burning. Secondly, it uses a small experiment to change the color of the flame to explain the flame from a chemical point of view. Knowledge about color reaction. Finally, I added some information about the evolution of the font of Chinese " ? " from the Shang Dynasty to the Warring States Period to the Han Dynasty.

The last book I used to summarize and reflect on the problems caused by this wildfire. I searched a large number of documents and learned that environmentalists compared this fire to a deadly warning, asking humans to face up to the dangers posed by environmental and climate change, and calling on the Australian government and the international community to learn from the disaster. , To adopt a stronger climate policy. Some political and economists believe that the chief culprit of the fire is certainly the background of climate change, but judging from the immediate heavy losses, if the policy is right, maybe there should not be so many people killed, nor should there be such a huge loss. Economic losses.
