rhapsode
It’s faster to glance at an image than to read the poem—just as it's faster to watch a two-minute summary on tik-tok than to read the entire book, but when you do so, you just import the one interpretation that author chose to show you, and miss all the others. I copied a passage from the Homeric Hymn to Hermes onto a scroll, then drew the same story over it. The viewers are forced to look at my interpretation of the poem, and not allowed to read the whole text.
Learning Outcomes:
I have a better understanding and practice to plan the scale of my works vs. the space of text, and it’s interesting to work on a scale so long.
