Hollywood Bowl Rebrand

The Hollywood Bowl is known for its distinctive band shell and scenic location in the Hollywood Hills. It holds a special place in LA's cultural heritage, serving as a beloved venue that brings together both locals and visitors for memorable artistic experiences. The Hollywood Bowl needs to have a visual system that incorporates the music and the character of its architecture to show it is a important landmark and a testament to the growth of entertainment and music culture in Los Angeles.

I divided the visual system into two distinct approaches. The first approach was inspired by the iconography in music sheets. I am incorporating notes from these sheets, such as the crescendo and smorzando markings.

The second visual system focuses on more specialized aspects. It features a real-time generated music wheel. The circular design references the shape of the Hollywood Bowl building, allowing for potential interaction between the visual patterns and the structure itself. This system also aims to establish a visual language that connects with the photos of the Hollywood Bowl.
