About
Yoo Kyung Lee (b.Seoul, South Korea) is an interdisciplinary visual artist who works across mediums, including installation, sculpture, and photography. She works with familiar objects, from small household items, such as clocks and ceramic cups, to historic architecture to ask questions about perception and knowing. She works with materials to understand the existence and function of the objects that surround us, and to explore the ways that we give them meaning and interpret our environment through the lens of cultural and individual perception. By addressing these questions through traditionally “objective” processes, including documentary photography, and the incorporation of public records and objects, her work brings awareness to the invisible and expands meaning.
