I’m Neko Tashiro Ohnsman.

I’m a Los Angeles-based Japanese-American illustrator interested in visual development and character design for animation.

Growing up as a queer, mixed-race kid, I know firsthand how impactful the stories we encounter in our books and on our screens can be. Creating worlds and characters that make people feel seen and understood is both a passion and a priority for me.

I love to people-watch when I need inspiration, and the people I meet often make their way into my work. I'm interested in the stories people have to tell, and I find that I also seek out stories in retro design, history, and world cultures. I’m always eager to weave these influences into the worlds I create.
