On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the faculty and staff, I want to congratulate the graduating class of Fall 2022. I am incredibly proud of what you have achieved in completing

your degree, particularly while enduring the hardships brought about by a prolonged pandemic. The awe inspiring manner in which you faced these challenges—supporting each other while also individually displaying imagination, fortitude and resilience—is a testament to your character and creative abilities.

As an ArtCenter graduate, I remember the joy and exhilaration of this moment as well as the mixed emotions that came with stepping out into the world to face an unknown future. When I find myself in a place of uncertainty, I fall back on a lesson I learned as a student: Approach each challenge not as a problem but as a question with multiple pathways to a solution.

As you take this next step in life, be confident that each one of you havelimitless possibilities for where your life and career can take you. What you have learned here at ArtCenter, and the relationships you have made with your peers, teachers, and mentors, will inspire and sustain you over time. The supportive bonds you have forged will continue to grow exponentially along your professional journey as you enter a larger community of friends and alumni.

And whatever the future may throw your way, remember this: You graduated from ArtCenter! That is, on its own, a major accomplishment. Plus, you graduated during an unprecedented moment in history, where so many things we took for granted were flipped upside down. Hold onto that and know that you have what it takes to overcome any obstacle.

On behalf of the entire ArtCenter family, congratulations on all that you have accomplished. We proudly celebrate and treasure this moment with you.
