Jesslyn Lee (b.1999) is a multidisciplinary artist from Taipei, Taiwan, who explore various mediums such as acrylic painting, pen and ink drawing, installation, and sculptures. Growing up in an Asian household with traditional Asian practices and living in the States with contemporary Western cultural experiences, Lee's artwork and professional life as a tattoo artist have come together to express and wrestle with these often conflicting backgrounds. In that, Lee explores traditions of beauty in Asian art and tattooing but also recognizes the pain and sacrifice that comes with that beauty - especially for women, traditional and in the present day.
