The Wolves in the Walls

Spanning the past fourteen weeks, I developed my interpretation of my favorite children’s book Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman. In my rendition, Florence a curious twelve year old girl visits her Grandfather and starts to hear strange noises from the walls. Upon closer investigation, she’s shocked to find there are wolves in the walls who emerge chasing her and her Grandfather out of the house but leaving behind her pug Poppet.
Learning Outcomes:
I set a production schedule for myself week one and worked through development off of that schedule. While it was a lot of work, and at times I ripped out my hair for trying to do so much in so little time, it was great to be able to present a full story for my wall. I got to know Florence as a character and really felt like I got to dive deeply into the cohesion of my paintings as a set which to me is what visual development is about, telling a story.
