Emily Burr (b. 1999) is an interdisciplinary artist born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. Through humor and vulnerability in each piece, her work explores a wide range of themes which include internet culture, Feminism, and Psychoanalysis. Burr’s inspiration comes from her upbringing in a sun-bleached beach-side suburbia; her art reflects a reaction to a reclusive childhood spent online mixed with the kitschy aesthetics she was exposed to in that environment. Other inspirations include fetish communities,
popular culture, kindness, and chihuahuas.
