I grew up in the in-between. Half Japanese, half white, never fully belonging to one world or the other. That space was isolating at times, but it also became the foundation of who I am. Living between cultures, I learned to notice subtleties, to find meaning in contrast, and to create connections where none seemed to exist.

My art and design come from that place. The in-between is where I translate identity into form, where contradictions meet and spark something completely unexpected. I believe the truest work comes from lived experience.

I try to approach design that way: gathering pieces of myself and shaping them into work that exists unapologetically, in the in-between.
