BFA in Fine Art — Fine ArtGraverobber Collection
The Graverobber Collection is the culmination of sculpture-like garments and redesigned, found clothing with the focus on bringing fashion into a fine art lens.Thematically, the collection revolves around how secrets affect the way we think, live, and interact with one another. By weaving my secrets into the fabric of each piece, I’m placing what I would have taken to my grave on display--I am my own graverobber.
Learning Outcomes:
This was my first time creating a fashion collection and it has shaped the way I want to make art in the future. I had an interest and passion for clothing and wearables in art, but never had the time to fully devote time and effort to creating garments in a fine art lens. The outcome from this project has propelled me to make more work that challenges the boundary of functionality in art and use the medium of fashion as a way to feel more personally connected to the work I am making.
